How The Callboard works

The rules, published

The Callboard is Aparté’s jobs board for theater work. It runs on three rules, printed here in full — they are why the board is the size it is, and they are not waived.

1. The pay rule

Every listing shows pay: an amount or a range, with its unit. A listing without pay does not run. When an employer’s posting omits pay, the listing waits until the pay is public. This rule excludes real employers — it has excluded some of the largest in the industry — and it stays.

2. The employer-source rule

Listings come from employers’ own career pages and postings — never scraped from other job boards or aggregators. A seeded listing is a summary in our words of the employer’s own posting, and every listing links to the application on the employer’s own site. An employer can claim, correct or remove its listings at any time, free.

3. Moderation, then auto-unpublish

Every listing is read before it runs. We reject listings that charge applicants anything, advertise unpaid work dressed as opportunity, or cannot be verified against the employer’s own site. A listing then runs 30 days or to its application deadline, whichever comes first — and comes down automatically. Expired listings do not linger, and filled roles do not keep collecting applications.

Candidates

Candidates never pay. There is no résumé database, and no applicant information is collected, sold or shared. The application happens on the employer’s site, between the candidate and the employer.
