The Mark Taper Forum opened in 1967 as part of the Los Angeles Music Center, a circular concrete building with a 739-seat thrust stage. It is programmed by Center Theatre Group and is used mainly for new plays and revivals rather than large musicals. The Forum received a special Tony Award in 1977.

Getting there

The theatre shares the Music Center site downtown, served by the Civic Center/Grand Park Metro station.
