Opened in 1918 as Henry Miller's Theatre, built by actor-manager Henry Miller. The building was substantially rebuilt behind its landmarked facade and reopened in 2009, then renamed in 2010 for composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical was a long-running production in the rebuilt house.
